I have been teaching directors how to work with actors since 1994. In Los Angeles, I led workshops with
Mark W. Travis at the Directors’ Guild, American Film Institute, UCLA Extension, Hollywood Actors Workshop, and Hollywood Film Institute, and taught Directing Actors For Film, Script Analysis, and Rehearsal Techniques on faculty in the Film and TV Department at Loyola Marymount University Extension and Santa Monica College. Between 1999 and 2007 I lived in Athens, Greece, where I was on faculty in the Film and TV Department at New York College, and taught at Theatre of Change, Dramatic School “Arhi”, T-Shorts – the Short Film Directors Union, Old Global Machine Productions and created my own private workshops for actors and directors. Focus has included: the rehearsal process, methods of staging, directing comedy, directing children, scenes of intimacy, character/improvisation/theatre games, blocking for the camera, and the casting process. I have directed theatre and taught actors and film directors in New York, Los Angeles, Athens and Lisbon. My students have gone on to win awards at the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, Thessoloniki International Film Festival, Thessolonikli Documentary Film Festival, Rhodes International Film Festival, and Drama International Short Film Festival.
